The AISL runs annually from September to May. As such, we will be subject to various weather events that this time of the year brings us — namely snowstorms, freezing rain, or low power events.
When does the league cancel games because of bad weather?
In the event of a predicted weather event, the league will e-mail team managers around 3pm on the game day to notify managers of:
1) The decision to call-off all games that night, or
2) The plan to play, but that we will continue to monitor for changing conditions.
The league website home page and specific division’s schedule will be updated as soon as reasonably possible with any updates or changes.
The league will make reasonable effort to reschedule one night per division per session that is cancelled due to a weather event.
What if the players on the team aren’t comfortable driving?
On an evening with a predicted weather event where games are going ahead, but the players on a team do not feel safe travelling, they may forfeit the match without a fine:
1) An e-mail is sent to the league and opposing team manager to notify of the default.
2) The opposing team may make full use of the field for the scheduled game time.
The home page will not be updated with an individual game cancellation, and division schedule / standings will be updated with the weekly scores.
